PROFHILO H+L is composed of 100% pure Hyaluronic Acid, formulated in a special way: – It contains a high concentration (64mg in 2ml) of a hybrid cooperative complex of both high molecular weight and low molecular weight HA. – Unlike traditional fillers which are heavily cross-linked with BDDE (a chemical agent), PROFHILO uses a patented thermal crosslinking (NAHYCO technology) that stabilizes the HA without BDDE. So it’s very pure and biocompatible, with reduced risk of inflammation. – Because of this, it spreads nicely in the skin (instead of staying as a localized gel lump). It doesn’t create volume like a filler; instead, it disperses and integrates to improve overall skin quality.

Treatment Protocol
Standard is 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart. Some people do a third session another month later if skin was very lax. Then maintenance maybe every 6-12 months (often just one session) to keep the effect
One of the unique aspects is the injection technique: For the face, we use the BAP technique (Bio Aesthetic Points) – just 5 injection points per side of the face are needed to cover the entire cheeks and jawline. These points are chosen to avoid major vessels and diffuse the product optimally. So only 10 jabs in total (for the face), making it a quick and fairly comfortable procedure.
For neck, similarly about 10 points spread along the neck.
These limited points mean less risk and less discomfort/bruising compared to typical mesotherapy with

A bit of swelling or bee-sting like bump at injection sites may show for a day, but otherwise minimal downtime. Most can resume normal life immediately – maybe slight redness or tiny bruise at an injection site, but nothing major.

Minimal Risks
Side effects are usually limited to mild injection site reactions. Because it’s pure HA without chemical crosslinkers, it’s very biocompatible – allergy is exceedingly rare. There’s no lidocaine in it, but we can add topical numbing. Infection risk is minimal with proper technique. Vascular occlusion is not a concern with BAP injection points as they’re away from vessels and product flows, plus this is such a thin product it wouldn’t block a vessel like a thick filler could. So it’s considered a very safe profile.
Long-Lasting Effects
Typically after the 2 treatments, results unfold and last around 6-9 months. Some of the benefit might even persist longer, as new collagen remains. Many do maintenance at 6 months or yearly. But it’s not something you have to do every month or two (unlike say a facial). It’s relatively low-frequency upkeep for high reward.
What to Expect During and After Treatment
Consultation
We’ll evaluate areas of concern (common ones: sagging cheeks, fine lines, “crepey” texture around cheeks or mouth, early jowls, wrinkly neck). If Profhilo is right for you, we’ll plan the typical 2-session protocol. If there are also deep folds or volume loss, we may combine this with targeted filler or threads for those, but often we start with Profhilo to see how much improvement we get, then address any remaining deficits after.
Preparation
No special prep needed, though avoid aspirin/ibuprofen a few days prior to minimize bruise risk if possible (not mandatory). We’ll cleanse the injection sites. We can mark the BAP points on your face – they are: near the tragus (ear), near the nose (nasolabial fold area but lateral), on the cheekbone, on the jawline chin area, and on the lower cheek. Similarly 5 strategic points on neck if treating neck. We apply a dab of topical anesthetic or use ice at each point to numb it.
Injection Process
We inject about 0.2ml at each point (for face) – a small bolus just under the skin. You’ll feel a quick small pinch and a slight stinging pressure as the fluid goes in. It’s over in seconds at each site. The product may create a little bump. We then move to next point. The whole face takes 10 injections (5 each side). For neck, also around 10 injections across the neck. We might gently massage or just leave it (Profhilo flows by itself).
Pain Level
Low to moderate for a brief moment per injection – honestly most people find it quite tolerable, especially with the numbing measures. It’s like tiny bee-stings but done so fast.
After Injection
You will have some small bumps at each site. On the face, the ones in the cheek may be visible as tiny lumps, same with chin and jaw points. These typically flatten within 4-24 hours as the HA diffuses. By next day, you usually can’t feel them. If one or two persist slightly longer (rarely up to 2 days), don’t worry – they’ll resolve. You might lightly tap them but avoid heavy massage – they are meant to spread on their own.
Redness at injection sites for an hour or two is normal. Occasionally a small bruise can appear at a site – usually not, because we choose points without large vessels. If any bruise, it’s minor and can be covered by makeup next day.
Post Care
Very simple – we advise not to do intense exercise or sauna the same day just to minimize risk of swelling or bruising. Don’t rub the injection points for 24 hours. Otherwise, resume skin routine next day (maybe skip strong acids/retinols for a day or two).
Day by Day
Immediately you might feel skin more plump from the HA gel presence. After 1-2 days, you likely feel normal. Some notice skin hydration improvement within that first week. The bigger changes (firmness, elasticity) start around 2-4 weeks as collagen builds. After your second session at 4 weeks, that process compounds. Many patients at 2 months remark their face feels “tighter” and lifted, and looks more luminous.
Repeat Session
At 4 weeks, we do the second round, same procedure. This locks in and amplifies results.
Combining with Other Treatments
If doing filler or Botox, we usually do those either at same session before injecting Profhilo (especially Botox can be done, and filler too, no issue). Or we space them – but since Profhilo injection sites are few and not likely to interfere with filler placement, it’s fine to do them together or days apart. Laser treatments best to do either before starting Profhilo or a couple weeks after injection to not confound any immediate swelling etc. Our team will coordinate if you have a multi-modality plan.

Is Profhilo a filler? Will it add volume like cheek fillers do?
Profhilo is not a filler in the traditional sense. It won’t create volume or fill deep wrinkles the way a crosslinked filler (like Juvederm or Restylane) would. You won’t get cheek augmentation or fill in a nasolabial fold with it. Instead, it’s a skin enhancer – think of it as a super-powered hydrator and stimulator. It spreads under the skin to improve the skin itself (thickness, texture, hydration). So, no, it won’t give the kind of contour changes fillers do. If you need that, you might still need filler in addition. Profhilo often complements fillers by making the overlying skin healthier and more elastic. So, you wouldn’t use Profhilo to, say, enlarge lips or correct a deep under-eye trough, but you’d use it to smooth fine crinkles around the mouth or eyes and tighten the overall face’s appearance. That’s why it’s considered “bio-remodeling” – remodeling the skin, not adding structure beneath it.
Who is the ideal candidate for Profhilo?
Ideal candidates are those with: – Mild to moderate skin laxity (sagging) who want a subtle overall tightening. – Crepey, wrinkled skin especially in areas like the cheeks, lower face, or neck. – General dull, dehydrated skin lacking glow or firmness. – It can be used preventatively starting in the early 30s to maintain skin quality. It’s also great for people who do not want the look of fillers or are nervous about filler “volume,” but still want rejuvenation – since Profhilo won’t change face shape, just quality. Profhilo is safe for all skin tones (no risk of hyperpigmentation etc.) and both sexes. People with very severe sagging (like jowls hanging, deep neck wattles) might find Profhilo alone is not enough and could be paired with other procedures (threads, tightening devices, or surgery in extreme cases). We’ll give a realistic assessment: Profhilo yields a noticeable improvement, but it’s not a facelift. Think a 20-30% tightening effect, which for many is wonderfully sufficient especially combined with the skin glow. If someone has extremely thin skin (like very atrophied from age or sun), they might even benefit more because it’ll plump that thin skin significantly. So most middle-aged clients are great candidates. It’s even beneficial for younger clients showing first signs of aging or wanting to delay them.
Are there any side effects or things to be cautious about?
Side effects are minimal. Immediately after injection, those bumps and maybe mild soreness at points can occur. Bruising is rare but possible. Allergic reactions to HA are extremely rare (it’s a natural component of skin). Because no synthetic chemicals like BDDE are left in it (none used), it has a purity advantage. Infection is always a remote risk with any injection but we use sterile technique to mitigate that. Vascular occlusion (filler into vessel causing blockage) is not a concern the way we inject Profhilo – it’s superficial and flows easily; plus injection points avoid major arteries. Some patients might experience slight inflammation a day or two (maybe a little redness or warmth as collagen activity kicks in) but typically not. If someone has an active skin infection or acne in injection area, we’d postpone until resolved. Profhilo has been used in many thousands of patients with a great safety record. So aside from little injection site issues, it’s very safe.
How soon will I see results, and are they very dramatic?
Many people note an improvement within a week or two after the first session – primarily in hydration and radiance. Skin often feels softer, “juicier,” and those fine superficial lines (like those crinkly ones on cheeks when you smile, or fine etched smokers lines) start to diminish. However, the big wow usually comes after the second session, around 4-8 weeks after starting. That’s when the tightening and lifting effect becomes evident. You might notice your jawline is a bit crisper, the nasolabial folds look less deep (because cheeks have a bit of lift and skin tautness improved), and neck lines reduced. The results are natural. Many patients choose to do a maintenance session or two at 6 months to keep collagen stimulation ongoing, or repeat the full 2-session course yearly. If you didn’t maintain, the HA and its effects gradually dissipate, and your skin will eventually return to baseline over maybe a year or so. It’s not like a one-time forever fix (unfortunately, nothing nonsurgical is), but the upsides are it actually may improve your baseline each time if done regularly (sort of like how consistent exercise builds muscle – consistent Profhilo keeps collagen levels up). I usually recommend: initial two sessions (1 month apart), then one session at ~6 months if you want to prolong effect, and then another full course at 1 year. Some do just the yearly full course. If someone is under 35 and did it preventively, maybe once a year is enough. If someone is older or with very dry skin, they might do it every 6 months. It’s flexible. Because it’s quick and low risk, doing it twice a year is not onerous for most.
